In this workshop you will see how the latest thinking in behavioral economics and cognitive design can be applied to the problem of learning transfer. The problem is caused by knowledge blobs or structures that are too big, abstract and flat. You will see how coupling motivation, conceptual knowledge and know-how on specially designed decks of 3x5 cards can accelerate behavior change in any domain, especially those involving soft skills. You will learn how to author and use knowledge cards as a training, coaching and community-building technique.

Date: Friday, July 16, 2010
Time:   7:30 – 9:00 am, 9-10 optional open discussion, networking
Location:    Northern Trust, 181 W. Madison - 7th floor, Chicago
Topic: SuccessFactors Implementation at TransUnion

RSVP REQUIRED for building access. If you did not attend any meetings thus far in 2010, you must send an email to lw56@ntrs.com at Northern Trust to be able to attend the meeting.

In 2009, TransUnion began implementation of 5 modules of SuccessFactors (Goal Management, Associate Profile, Career Development Planning, Performance Management, and Succession Management).

The implementation involved approximately 3,000 associates across 14 countries.

The goal of implementing SuccessFactors was to build a technology foundation which would allow:

  • Data to be stored in a single, global, centralized web-based database, accessed anytime via the Internet.
  • Corporate-wide goals to be aligned and clear to all associates so everyone would understand how their daily work impacts the overall strategy.
  • Leaders and managers access to real-time dashboards and reporting to have visibility into how the organization is progressing against goals, hold their group accountable on development and provide feedback to help improve performance.
  • Associates to continually update skills, experience, knowledge and interests to promote cross-company collaboration and help leaders make more informed organizational and talent decisions.

During this presentation, the focus will be on reviewing the overall scope of the implementation, understanding the change management implications of the project and discussing ways to increase user adoption.

Presenter Bio: The session will be led by project manager Katie Coleman and executive sponsor Phil Garrison from TransUnion. Katie is a Team Lead in the Organizational Development department and Phil is the Director of Organizational Development and HR Services.
